NetOne is running a MiFi/WiFi device promotion, if you buy either one of the 2 WiFi devices they are selling they will give you free airtime. The amount of airtime you get depends on the device you buy. The MiFi devices can be used to connect to the internet via 4G. The company also sells OneFi bundles that are tailored to work with the device although you can use them with any smartphone.

There are two devices on sale:

  • What looks like a portable MiFi device which is selling for US $70. The device can theoretically allow up to 10 users to connect at the same time and has a rechargeable battery which lasts up to 8 hours. If you opt for this device you will get airtime worth $200 ZWL.
  • The other one is a portable WiFi device which is selling for US$ 95. This device can theoretically allow up to 30 users to connect at the same time. By the looks of it this one does not have a battery. If you buy this device you will get $400 ZWL.

A drop in the ocean

Free airtime is always welcome but it’s hard to get excited about this promotion. It would have been nice if customers were being rewarded with data instead. 5G of OneFi data perhaps. The airtime will not even be enough for a customer to buy the cheapest OneFi bundles.
