Here at Zimpricecheck we offer a convenient way for you to buy airtime using either PayPal or Rand EFT no matter where you are in the world. But here is the thing, what if you buy more than you need and want to share that airtime with a loved one? How do you share Econet airtime with someone? Well, there are currently two ways to share Econet airtime:
- Using *111# and
- Using the Yomix App
Method 1 using *111# to share or transfer airtime
- Dial *111#
- Option 3 and press enter
- Enter recipient’s number
- Enter amount 5. Press enter
Method 2 sharing airtime using the Yomix app
When the Yomix app was launched it offered something unique. The app would allow you to make your own unique bundle depending on your needs. Unlike premade bundles like One-Fusion by NetOne and Mega-boost by Telecel which come with rigid SMS, call minutes and data, Yomix allows you to specify how much of each service you want. In recent months Yomix hasn’t received much love from Econet though it still exists. One of the useful features of Yomix is that is allows you to share airtime.
To share airtime using the Yomix app follow these steps:
- If you don’t already have the Yomix app, download and install it from the Playstore
- Open the app and select login using an SMS code
- Then enter your number and tap on “get” which is on the right side of the code box
- A countdown will appear which will allow you to resend the code again if you don’t receive it the first time
- When you receive the 6 digit code enter it in the allocated text box and sign in
- You will see the option to share airtime as shown in the screenshot above
- Tap on it and then enter the number you want to send the airtime to
- You have the option to share preset amounts of airtime but you can also share your own amount by selecting other
- Tap on transfer
- That’s it, if you have enough airtime it will be send to the chosen number
