How can you fix this?

So here are two things to note. WhatsApp is the beginning and end of all communications in Zimbabwe. POTRAZ has shown us reports that prove that for most people in Zimbabwe WhatsApp is the full depth of most people’s internet experience i.e WhatsApp is the internet for most people. A lot of informal and formal businesses rely on it for their communications and even making sales. So it’s pretty important.

Another thing to note is that for some reason Zimbabweans tend to be stuck with older flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy SIII and iPhone 6SE. This is because most people cannot afford to buy newer phones like the iPhone 13 or the Samsung Galaxy S20. Those who want a flagship experience end up settling for either budget brands like the Xiaomi, iTel and Techno or they end up buying refurbished secondhand yesteryear flagships. The problem with the later is you end up with a phone that’s closer to it’s end of life support.

The solution is to buy a new phone and settle for the budget brands. They tend to be less faster than today’s flagships but their performance is often better than yesteryear flagships. If you have an Android phone that’s no longer supported you can buy some time by installing WhatsApp mods such as GBWhatsApp on your phone but eventually these will stop supporting your phone too as they are based on the official WhatsApp installation file. If you have an iPhone 6 there is no hope for you except to swallow your pride and either get a cheap Android phone or to buy another iPhone that’s supported.
