Steel Brands a company that recycles scrap iron metal has drawn the ire of local residents. Despite being a heavy industry, the company was controversially allowed to operate in the residential suburb of Houghton Park. It’s still not clear how the company was granted EMA approval to operate in the area despite being an heavy emissions company. Some Houghton Park residents are now complaining of chest pains and respiratory illnesses that have some confusing the symptoms with those of COVID.
