The University of Zimbabwe says it has reached a deal with two leading mobile network operators that will see students being granted free elearning mobile data. The allocation allows students to access sites approved by the University for free. From what we can tell these bundles, if you can call them that, are different from the general elearning bundles that Econet and NetOne are selling.

The unnamed mobile network operators will essentially zero-rate these approved sites. This means that when students whose numbers have been entered into the mobile network operator database access these websites their data would not be affected. As implied by the last statement this is not an automatic process. It involves students applying to the University in order to be included in the program.
