Chief among the complaints that people used to level against the government was that the president as well as other officials shunned Zimbabwe’s struggling airline. There were figures thrown around to show how expensive chartering a plane had been. Today President Mnangagwa flew to Victoria Falls for an event meant to find ways to boost tourism which has suffered under the Covid-19 pandemic. In pictures released by ZBC, the president is seen emerging from an Air Zimbabwe plane.
