Schweppes Zimbabwe is looking for apprentices to join their fold. The company is a well-known brand in Zimbabwe and is mostly known for its iconic Schweppes drink as well as the famous Mazoe dilutable drink which it has been making for decades. Schweppes is also part of the prestigious Delta Beverages family. What jobs are available under the apprenticeship?

There are a couple of jobs or traders available under this apprenticeship viz:

  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Instrumentation and Control
  • Refrigeration and Control

N.B. Each trade is separate so you need to choose wisely depending on your interest and qualifications.

How long will the apprenticeship last?

The apprenticeship will last for four years after which you will receive a widely recognised certificate which you can use to continue working for them or you can take it and apply for work here in Zimbabwe or in other countries including the UK if you want.

What are the requirements or qualifications you need to apply?

No, you do not need a degree, apprenticeship is a recognised alternative to traditional campus-based learning where you have to spend time in the classroom. An apprenticeship is a form of on-the-job training so you learn while you are on the job. Schweppes says you need to have the following qualifications:

  • Aged 22 and below
  • 5 O” level passes including Maths and English
  • At least 2 A’ Level passes for those interested in Instrumentation and Control
  • Clearance letter from the apprenticeship board
  • A provisional or a valid driver’s license is an added advantage
