I have to be honest, in Zimbabwe, like probably in a lot of other countries, if you lose sight of your wallet or drop it in a public place the best you can hope for is to collect your ID(s) if you are lucky.
Also, the police in Zimbabwe have lost some of their respect in the public eye. For most people, it was the extortionist roadblocks that were a feature of former president Robert Mugabe’s government that simply made them hate the police and peg them as mostly corrupt. You couldn’t drive for 3 Km without stumbling upon some roadblock were you faced made-up charges.
One woman however recently had the pleasant surprise of dealing with honest cops.
