Since yesterday various members of the Econet family have been experiencing challenges when using network services. Econet acknowledged that their system was experiencing challenges yesterday. The problem seemed to have been affecting mostly just calls although a number of customers also complained that they couldn’t access USSD services such as Ecocash. Econet says they have managed to fix the problem and full service has been restored.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience during this time and for your continued support.
Econet have not bothered to explain the exact nature of this technical challenge. In the past they attributed the challenges they had experienced to errors involving their home server. They were not so forthcoming this time around.
