Zimbabwe’s sole digital pay-TV operator, DStv has announced that the History channel and 2 other channels will soon be history as they are removing them from their channel line up this coming November. This means these channels will no longer be available on any of the bouquets.

The three affected channels are:

  1. Crime+Investigation,
  2. History and
  3. Lifetime

All three channels are very popular with viewers although the History Channel has lost some of its shine with barely historical content and is instead loaded up with reality TV shows like Pawn Stars.

DSTV has promised to replace these channels with similar channels so as to appease those who were regular viewers of these channels. A+E which owns the channels has expressed sadness and hope that DSTV will change its mind.

Our channels are available to viewers in over 160 countries around the world, and we negotiate several of these deals every year. We are willing to keep negotiations open, and we sincerely hope DStv will find a way to work with us to keep our channels so we can continue to share our great upcoming local and international programmes with our loyal fans.

Everyone at A+E Networks Africa is committed to continue working with DStv to try to achieve a positive outcome.
