It seems Chitungwiza Town Council has seen the light and backed away from the threats they made late yesterday. The council had threatened to take action against vendors operating in the dormitory city. In a chilling warning, the council castigated the vendors whom they said were operating illegally.

This did not go down well with the public in general who were livid that the same councils who were failing to provide basic services such as refuse collection were promising to rain fire and brimstone on people trying to eke a living during these difficult times.

The council issued another announcement today in which they did a u-turn.
