ZESA has finally received the green light to hike tariffs starting today. It seems the upgrade they mentioned yesterday might have been an upgrade related to this tariff hike. They have also revealed that from now onwards tariffs will be reviewed each month in line with inflation.

Tariff hike details

These new electricity tariffs which will see domestic users paying an average of US$0.12 per kWh up from approximately US$0.02. The change will also see low power users (200kWh/month) forking out ZWL157 up from ZWL48 this translates to a more than 200% increase.
