For years, the government has been neglecting the Harare-Beitbridge highway which was now falling into a dangerous state of disrepair. With Zimbabwe heavily dependant on South Africa for imports this was a drawback as it meant vehicles had to drive more slowly and negotiate the potholes that were now on the road. Several accidents also probably occured because of how bad the road had become. Thankfully the government has been repaving the road.
