Following the recent surge in the black market rate which has risen to around 170 ZWL per 1 USD, the RBZ has come after suspected dealers. Several companies have landed in court over suspected black market dealings. Last week the RBZ took the unusual step of naming and shaming about 47 individuals publicly. Today they followed up with another list of 30 people who they accuse of forex dealings.

EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS AND MONEY-LAUNDERING ACTIVITIES

In addition to the 30 individuals blacklisted for advertising and facilitating illegal foreign exchange transactions and money laundering activities through social media, as published in the Press Statement of 28 September 2021, the 47 individuals listed below have also been blacklisted and barred from accessing financial and mobile telecommunication services for the same reasons.
