As most of us Zimbabweans know, there has been a cash crisis since 2016. We actually have to scrounge, beg or pay a premium in order to get our own currency-bond notes aka Zimbabwean dollars.

If you have been wondering why we have such an acute shortage of something that should be readily available then chew on this. Cash in Zimbabwe only represents about 3% of the 34.5 billion in circulation. The rest is in the form of RTGS dollars and other cash equivalence.
