With beef no longer affordable to many it seems most people turned to chicken as a substitute. There was a massive surge in demand as some shops ran out of chicken while others were low. This has prompted both suppliers and supermarkets to adjust the price of chicken by close to 100%.
Even at those new prices, we saw people with trolleys stacked with chicken. It seems even a massive price hike is not enough to dissuade people from meat.

There weren’t other chicken-related products such as Chicken sausages either. It was the same story for chicken heads, feet, skins, gizzards, liver and hearts. The people want meat and they will not be denied.
