Fish and pork remain as unpopular as ever in Zimbabwe. The hike in beef prices to astronomic levels did not change that. People just rushed into the welcoming arms of chicken. This is not helped by the fact that pork prices are also higher than those of chicken.
Most supermarkets only stock these products in limited quantities we have noticed. Also while horse mackerel, imported from Walvis Bay, used to be popular it has been conspicuously absent in most shops over the past 12 months or so.

NB
- The price shown on that pork box from TM Pick N Pay is from August. That is like a millennium in our hyperinflationary world. Don’t expect to pay that in any shop.
- Look at the price differences between pork head in TM and Choppies shops, it underlines the madness that is going on in our economy
