Chicken has always been a family favourite in Zimbabwe. The rice and chicken dish is revered in most homes. While the prices of chicken have gone up, it still remains the cheapest source of protein for cash strapped Zimbabweans. Besides, the price increases were more palatable compared to last week’s prices.
We, however, noticed that all shops were low on chicken. It could be that most of it had been bought as this was the month-end week. Also totally missing in a lot of shops were chicken offals, heads, hearts, livers and feet.
