We talked about how Dominican Convent one of Harare’s elite schools had hiked its 2020 fees to $15K per term. That was shocking then, now it seems like its a trend as boarding schools grapple with the inflationary environment in Zimbabwe. The latest school to announce a hike is Sandringham High.

Students are expected to pay fees of almost $12 000 ZWL next term.

  • Boarding and Tuition    – $2 914.00
  • SDC Levy    – $327.00
  • BSPZ           – $12.00
  • PRACTICAL – $370.00
  • Laundry       – $200.00
  • Desk Levy    – $850.00
  • Calendar      – $20.00
  • Matress        – $650.00
  • Bible and HMYN BOOK – $450.00
  • UNIFORMS (GIRLS)        – $6 103.00
  • TOTAL PAYABLE              – $11 896.00

About the only good thing here is that it doesn’t seem like the school is demanding payment now as Dominican Convent has done. However, given inflation, it wouldn’t be surprising if students are later asked to top up their fees next term.
