Aura Group has officially launched as an authorized Starlink reseller in Zimbabwe, bringing satellite internet services to customers across the country. Aura is the second licenced Starlik reseller with the other one being TelOne. Frampol and Dandemutande have been cleared by Starlik to be resellers. However, they are still waiting on government approval to commence operations. Aura on the other hand has now started selling kits to customers. You will note that it seems Aura is targeting business customers as opposed to domestic customers.

Aura’s Starlink Hardware and Pricing

Aura Group offers two Starlink hardware options:

  1. Starlink Standard Kit (Premium): $420.00 (including VAT)
  2. High Performance Kit: $2,999.00 (including VAT)

Performance Specifications

  • High-Performance Kit: Up to 350 Mbps
  • Premium Standard Kit: Up to 220 Mbps

Data Plans

Customers can choose from various data plans:

  1. 40GB priority + standard unlimited: $120.00
  2. 1TB priority + standard unlimited: $175.00
  3. 2TB priority + standard unlimited: $340.00
  4. Additional Priority Data: $0.33 per GB

All prices include VAT and duty. As already noted above these are business packages as opposed to Starlink’s home packages which are US$30 for the Residential Lite package and US$50/month for the Residential plan. You can still use the residential plans for business purposes but speeds are not guaranteed. With business packages you can expect to get priority speeds which is important, especially during business hours.

Benefits of Purchasing Through a Local Reseller

Buying Starlink through an authorized local reseller like Aura Group offers several advantages:

  1. Local Support: Receive assistance in your time zone and language.
  2. Simplified Billing: Streamlined account management and payment options.
  3. Integration Expertise: Benefit from the reseller’s experience in integrating new technologies with existing infrastructure.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Resellers navigate local regulations, ensuring the service adheres to Zimbabwean laws.
  5. Customized Solutions: Potential for tailored packages to suit local needs.

Potential Impact

Starlink’s entry into the Zimbabwean market could significantly improve internet connectivity, especially in underserved areas. While the initial costs may be substantial for some, the long-term benefits of reliable, high-speed internet access could be transformative for individuals, businesses, and communities.
