Even though inflation is now officially under 175% and most people are already struggling and facing starvation, the government has effected another fuel price hike.

Since yesterday the pump prices are now:

• Diesel ZWL$7.19 per litre
• Petrol ZWL$7.47 per litre

This is the second price increase within 10 days and seems to reinforce the Finance Minister’s assertion that prices would be raised gradually until they are around USD$1 based on the now more market-based Interbank rate.
