ZINARA Vehicle Licence Fees in Zimbabwe (2026 Guide)
Every vehicle registered in Zimbabwe must carry a valid ZINARA road licence disc. This is a separate charge from the one-time vehicle registration fee paid to the Central Vehicle Registry (CVR) and from the toll fees paid at tollgates. The licence fee is charged per term (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 months) and is based on your vehicle’s net mass, under Statutory Instrument 67 of 2024.

The USD figure is a fixed reference fee per vehicle class, not scaled by licence period. ZiG fees scale with the licence period chosen (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 months).
Renewing your licence
You can renew your vehicle licence disc at any ZINARA office or through ZINARA’s online self-service portal. Bring your vehicle registration book (or your registration number) and a valid third-party insurance certificate, then pay the fee for the term you want. The disc is issued immediately once payment clears.
What happens if your licence lapses
Driving without a valid licence disc is a criminal offence in Zimbabwe. Vehicles without a current disc are liable to fines and impoundment by the police, and ZINARA has stated that vehicles without a valid licence disc may be turned away at tollgates.
